To cancel Orange Belgium, call customer service on 5000 from your Orange number (free) or on 02 745 95 00 from any other phone, or send a written cancellation by post. Orange does not let you cancel a subscription yourself in My Orange. Cancelling is free, but you pay the remaining value of a smartphone or Flybox you got with your subscription, and you must return your decoder, modem and wifi boosters within 14 days after the contract ends: Orange charges €200 per decoder, €60 for the modem and €40 per booster you don't send back. Switching to another operator? Do not cancel your mobile line yourself, because the new operator moves your number and closes your Orange contract for you.

How to cancel your Orange subscription

Contact Orange customer service, because every cancellation of a mobile, internet, TV or pack subscription goes through it. These are the channels:

Orange's general terms let you cancel a contract of indefinite or fixed duration at any time, by any written means, so a letter to the postal address in those terms is also valid. Orange does not publish an email address for cancellations, so for written proof without the post, ask customer service to confirm the cancellation by email.

Can you cancel your Orange subscription online?

Not on your own. My Orange shows the remaining value of your device and lets you change your tariff plan or plan a move, but Orange's help page sends every cancellation to customer service. If you only want to pay less, changing your plan in My Orange may be enough.

Cancel Orange Belgium by phone

Call 5000 and choose the right service in the menu. After your call, you receive a confirmation email with all the instructions to send back your equipment.

What does it cost to cancel Orange?

To cancel an Orange contract costs nothing in itself. You only pay in these situations:

Situation

What you pay

Mobile, internet, TV or pack subscription

Nothing for the cancellation

Subscription with a smartphone or Smart Home Pack, ended early

The remaining device value from the repayment table, shown in your customer zone

Subscription with a Flybox, ended early

The remaining value of the Flybox modem

Decoder not returned within 14 days

€200 per decoder

Modem not returned within 14 days

€60

Wifi booster not returned within 14 days

€40 per booster

Belgian law sets the limits: an operator may never charge a fee to cancel a contract of indefinite duration or a fixed term contract that is at least six months old, and charges nothing for a device after 24 months, as the Belgian telecom regulator BIPT explains.

Does the six month rule apply to you?

Only if you have an older or promotional contract with a fixed term. Belgian law (article 111/3 of the electronic communications act of 13 June 2005) lets an operator charge an early termination fee only in the first six months of a fixed term contract, and never more than the subscription fees up to month six. Orange subscriptions can be cancelled at any time, and Orange's terms turn a fixed term contract into a contract of indefinite duration once its term ends, so the fee only applies to a fixed term contract in its first six months. Not sure which contract you have? Your contract and your invoice show whether it runs for a fixed or an indefinite term.

Internet, TV and what to send back

You can cancel a whole Orange pack or only part of it, for example only the mobile services, or mobile and internet. If you keep only your mobile subscription, you lose pack promotions such as Double Data. To cancel an Orange internet package in favour of another provider, use Easy Switch and let the new provider handle it.

After the cancellation, send everything back free of charge from any bpost office or bpost point:

Equipment

Send back?

TV decoder (digicorder) with remote control and cables

Yes, within 14 days

Modem with cables

Yes, within 14 days

Wifi boosters

Yes, within 14 days

Network splitter (NIU) where the cable enters your home

No, leave it in place

Keep your bpost receipt and upload it with Orange's online form for the return proof, so you can show the equipment arrived. Returning the equipment does not cancel your subscription, so always cancel first.

Since 2023, VOO is part of Orange Belgium too, but VOO contracts still follow their own rules, as our guide on how to cancel VOO explains.

Flybox (4G home internet)

The Flybox modem is part of your subscription price. Stop the Flybox subscription early and you pay the remaining value of the modem.

Phone insurance

Orange's phone insurance is an option on your mobile subscription, and you can cancel it whenever you want after the first six months. Ask customer service to stop it, because Orange's insurance terms ask for a cancellation by letter.

Moving house

Plan the move in your Orange customer zone under My products (Internet) at least three weeks in advance, or six weeks if your new home is not yet connected to the cable network. Take your decoder, modem, cables and remote control with you. With only a mobile subscription, just change your billing address in My Orange.

Switching? Don't cancel your mobile line first

Keep your Orange line active until your new operator has taken over your number. In Belgium you always keep your mobile number when you switch: you sign a request with the new operator, which moves the number and closes your Orange contract. Cancel first and you lose the number. Read how to keep your number when you change mobile providers.

On a Tempo prepaid card, ask Orange to refund your remaining credit within 31 days after your number moves, through Orange's web form or on 02 745 95 00. Orange charges €5 administration costs, so credit under €5 is not refunded, and promotional credit never is.

Telecom that works for you

Leaving an operator should take one form, not a phone call, a letter and a parcel deadline. Firsty is building telecom that works for you, not against you: no SIM card to swap, no roaming setting to remember, no zone chart to check and no surprise bill. Every connection Firsty sells also connects someone in Belgium who needs it, not as charity, but as how the business works. Have a look at the Firsty plans for Belgium, and keep an eye on what Firsty is building, because things are moving. Discover more at Firsty.app.

FAQ

Can I cancel my phone contract online?

What is the Orange Belgium customer service number?

Call 5000 for free from your Orange number, or 02 745 95 00 at local rate from any other phone (+32 2 745 95 00 from abroad). Customer service is open Monday to Saturday from 8:00 to 20:00 and on Sundays and public holidays from 10:00 to 18:30.

How much does it cost to cancel Orange Belgium?

The cancellation itself is free. You pay the remaining value of a smartphone or Flybox bought with your subscription, and €200 per decoder, €60 for the modem and €40 per wifi booster you don't return within 14 days.

Can I cancel Orange Belgium by email?

Orange does not publish an email address for cancellations. Call customer service, which confirms the cancellation by email, or send a letter to Orange Belgium, Postbus 950, 1140 Brussels.

Can I keep my number when I leave Orange?

Yes. Ask your new operator to take over your number before you cancel anything, and it closes your Orange contract on the transfer date. If you cancel the line yourself first, you lose the number.

Who owns Orange Belgium?
